Role Summary  

GlobeDock Academy is seeking a qualified and mission-driven Sign Language Instructor to support inclusive education for learners in Grades 9–12. The role focuses on delivering and adapting academic instruction using Ethiopian Sign Language (ESL) and supporting accessible learning content. 

The instructor will work closely with academic teachers and content teams to ensure learning materials are inclusive, clear, and effective. 


Key Responsibilities 

  1. Deliver instruction using Ethiopian Sign Language (mandatory
  2. Support students through structured, accessible teaching 
  3. Adapt academic content to meet inclusive education standards 
  4. Collaborate with subject teachers to align instruction with curricula 
  5. Participate in recorded and/or live instructional sessions 
  6. Support the development of inclusive digital learning materials 
  7. Advise on best practices in inclusive education and accessibility 


Ideal Candidate Profile 

The successful candidate will: 

  1. Demonstrate strong proficiency in Ethiopian Sign Language 
  2. Have experience teaching students 
  3. Show commitment to inclusive and equitable education 
  4. Work effectively within multidisciplinary academic teams 
  5. Adapt teaching approaches to diverse learning needs 
  6. Be patient, structured, and learner-centered 



Qualifications & Requirements 

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Special Needs, or a related field preferred 
  2. + 3 years of professional experience and proven proficiency in Ethiopian Sign Language (mandatory
  3. Background in deaf education, special needs, or inclusive education preferred 
  4. Teaching experience with inclusive education classroom and having acknowledge of deaf community is an advantage 
  5. Strong communication and collaboration skills 
  6. Familiarity with digital or recorded learning environments is an advantage
