Role Summary 

The Lead Instructional Designer is responsible for transforming complex academic, legal, and social science content into high-quality digital learning experiences that are engaging, accessible, and outcomes focused. 


Key Responsibilities 

1. Instructional Design & Strategy 

  1. Apply adult learning theories and instructional design models (ADDIE, SAM) 
  2. Design structured learning pathways and scenario-based content 

2. Content Development 

  1. Develop storyboards, scripts, and interactive learning materials 
  2. Build digital courses using authoring tools (Articulate, Rise, Captivate) 

3. Collaboration & Leadership 

  1. Work closely with SMEs to extract and structure core content 
  2. Coordinate with LMS Specialists for smooth deployment 
  3. Mentor junior instructional design staff where applicable 

Required Qualifications 

  1. MA in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Education, or related field 
  2. Minimum 5–7 years of experience in digital learning or instructional design 
  3. Experience designing courses in law, policy, or social sciences is an advantage 

Technical Skills 

  1. Authoring tools (Articulate 360, Rise, etc.) 
  2. LMS integration (preferably Moodle) 
  3. Digital Learning Design
  4. Content Development & Storyboarding
  5. Quality Assurance & Data Use
  6. Leadership & Collaboration
