Role Summary
The Lead Instructional Designer is responsible for transforming complex academic, legal, and social science content into high-quality digital learning experiences that are engaging, accessible, and outcomes focused.
Key Responsibilities
1. Instructional Design & Strategy
- Apply adult learning theories and instructional design models (ADDIE, SAM)
- Design structured learning pathways and scenario-based content
2. Content Development
- Develop storyboards, scripts, and interactive learning materials
- Build digital courses using authoring tools (Articulate, Rise, Captivate)
3. Collaboration & Leadership
- Work closely with SMEs to extract and structure core content
- Coordinate with LMS Specialists for smooth deployment
- Mentor junior instructional design staff where applicable
Required Qualifications
- MA in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Education, or related field
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in digital learning or instructional design
- Experience designing courses in law, policy, or social sciences is an advantage
Technical Skills
- Authoring tools (Articulate 360, Rise, etc.)
- LMS integration (preferably Moodle)
- Digital Learning Design
- Content Development & Storyboarding
- Quality Assurance & Data Use
- Leadership & Collaboration
